The Bureau of Labor Relations through the Workers Organization Development Program (WODP) released a training grant to the National Association of Trade Unions (NATU) for the conduct of its activity entitled “Grievance Handling and Stewardship Training Workshop”. The activity was conducted on 06-08 February 2015 in San Pablo, Laguna.

Thirty-five (35) members of NATU participated in the training workshop which covered interactive sessions on labor dispute resolution. Resource persons come from the DOLE-National Conciliation Mediation Board and the IndustiALL Global Union, and international labor organization which represents 50 million workers in 140 countries in the mining, energy and manufacturing sectors.

The activity is being done nationwide for the members of NATU. “This activity is the second phase of our seminar series. The first was participated by our members from the Metro Manila Area and Northern Luzon region and today, we cover our members from other parts of Metro Manila together with the Southern Luzon region,” said Mr. Michael Apostol, NATU President.

“We are grateful for the BLR and their WODP program for making these activities possible. Such seminars would greatly help our members. It would also help our member-unions to engage their management and to know other means of resolving labor disputes,” Mr. Apostol added.
