The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Church Labor Conference (CLC) tied up for the Memorandum of Agreement held on April 29, 2015 at the Labor Governance Learning Center, DOLE Bldg., Intramuros, Manila. The MOA was signed by Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz of DOLE, Bishop Broderick Pabillo,D.D. and Mr. Renato B, Magtubo, Chairman and Co-Chairman of the CLC, respectively. Usec. Rebecca C. Chato of DOLE, and officers and members of CLC member organizations also gathered together to witness the ceremony.

The agreement covers the commitment of CLC by providing assistance in the advocacy and implementation of labor laws, rules and regulations. It will also promote programs and services of DOLE, its Bureaus and attached agencies. Moreover, it will participate in the National Tripartite Industry Peace Council (NTIPC) and/or Technical Executive Committee (TEC), and continue to attend a quarterly dialogue to track progress of the implementation of the MOA and other labor issues and concerns.

Labor and Employment Secretary Baldoz delivered a message of gratitude to CLC for partnering with the Department in threshing out labor issues and concerns through regular dialogues. “Ang kanilang organisasyon ay grass- root, community-based at across all sectors kayat talagang napapanahon ang ating maayos na pakikipag-ugnayan,”she said.

CLC is an alliance of various labor groups and Catholic Church people engaged in advancing labor rights and industrial peace. The institution also recognizes the importance of tripartism and social dialogue aimed at promoting harmonious labor-management relations and protecting the right and well-being of the workers.
