The Bureau of Labor Relations honored the 2015 Workers Organization Development Program (WODP) graduates during the Annual Recognition Ceremony held last May 22, 2015 at the Labor Governance Learning Center (LGLC), DOLE Building in Intramuros, Manila.

The ceremony aimed for scholars to celebrate and bask in the light of their academic achievements, and commend the support of their parents and sponsoring labor organizations. It also meant to inspire on-going scholars to go forth in continuing their education and achieving their dreams.

Eighteen (18) WODP graduates were honored, namely: Kimu V. Gerodias (BS Marine Transportation-Philippine Merchant Marine School) sponsored by ADLO- KMU; Jeff Russel R. Bermudez (BS Business Administration Major in Marketing- Polytechnic University of the Philippines) sponsored by DFA-KMU; Tristel G. Domaluan (BS Accountancy-University of Perpetual Help System Biñan) sponsored by DFA-KMU; Zinnia Kale A. Dir. Benjo Santos M. Benavidez, assisted by OIC-Chief Ms. Marivic T. Villa, awarded the Certificates of Recognition to the jubilant scholars who were accompanied by their parents and representatives of their sponsor labor organizations.

Atty. Jose Sonny Matula, President of Federation of Free Workers, and Ms. Vicenta Mendoza of Samahan at Ugnayan ng Manggagawang Progresibo, expressed their appreciation and support to BLR in providing educational opportunities to officers and members of trade unions and workers’ organizations including their dependents through the WODP. They exhorted the graduates to strive harder in their chosen fields.

Ms. Ma. Cristina C. Santos of Bureau of Local Employment discussed Labor Market Information and Employment Guide to provide the graduates and on-going scholars accurate information essential for making sound career decisions.

In his inspirational send-off message, Dir. Benavidez encouraged the graduates to instill the values they have learned, pursue excellence, and be proactive in all aspects of their lives.
