Associated Labor Unions-Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (ALU-TUCP) obtained training grant from the Bureau of Labor Relations through the Workers’ Organization Development Program (WODP). The grant funded the activity “Educators’ Conference/Workshop: Responding to Concerns and Issues of Workers”. The first leg of area-wide activity was conducted on June 4-6, 2015 at the Gem’s Sports and Conference Center in Antipolo, Rizal.
It was participated by thirty-five (35) officers and members of ALU-TUCP affiliates from Metro Manila and Luzon area. Ms. Luz R. Rosas, Supervising Labor and Employment Officer of BLR, presented the Bureau’s program mainly WODP and Tripartism.
Mr. Gerardo R. Seno, National Executive Vice President of ALU-TUCP commended the BLR for the assistance provided through the WODP. He added that the training grants are important means to improve the capacity of ALU educators.
The activity complements the goal of the Bureau in strengthening trade unionism towards achieving industrial peace. (Luz R. Rosas)
