The Federation of Free Workers (FFW) obtained a training grant from the Bureau of Labor Relations through the Workers’ Organization Development Program (WODP).
The grant was utilized in the conduct of “Gender Sensitivity Training Towards Gender Equality” held on August 19-20, 2015 at the Montevista Resort and Conference Center in Calamba, Laguna.
The training was conducted to enhance awareness of the roles and fundamental rights of women and men toward genuine equality and development and continuing transformation of trade unions. Among the topics discussed were Gender Analysis, Concepts and Framework, and Gender-based Policies and Affirmative Reinforcement. Thirty (30) officers and members of the FFW participated in the activity.
Atty. Jose Sonny G. Matula, National Persident of FFW, thanked the BLR for the support and financial assistance in making the activity possible through WODP.
The WODP serves a facilitating mechanism in strengthening trade unions and workers’ organizations. It aims to develop the capabilities of workers and their organization in performing their roles toward the promotion of trade unionism, workers’ empowerment and sound labor-management relations.
