The Confederation of Democratic Workers of the Philippines (CDWP) received training grant from the Bureau of Labor Relations (BLR) through the Workers’ Organization Development Program (WODP). The grant was used in the conduct of training on entrepreneurship. The third of a four-part series of trainings for 2015 was held on 16-18 October 2015 at Tatong’s Beach Resort, in Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental.
The activity aimed to augment the skills of the participants on entrepreneurial activities. Likewise, it provided more opportunities to the workers which will help them sustain a decent living.
Nearly thirty (30) participants from Aloran Vendors’ Association (AVA), Aloran Women’s Association (AWA), and transport sector (KARANCHO) in Mindanao attended in the activity.
Sis. Necie M. Lucero, Secretary-General of CDWP, thanked the BLR for assistance provided through the WODP. She encouraged the participants to participate in activities designed to improve their capacity and skills.
The activity is consistent with the objective of the Bureau in strengthening trade unionism by enhancing the capabilities of workers organizations to directly undertake labor education activities for their members.
