Representatives from the TIPC-Tripartite Executive Committee from TUCP, NAFLU, UFSW-NCL-CLC, and FFW joined the Environmental Restoration Activity organized by the Bureau of Labor Relations as part of its 59th anniversary celebration.
The activity was held in La Mesa Water Shed, Quezon City on January 16, 2016 to commemorate BLR’s 59 years of service through developing and implementing policies, programs and services towards maintaining harmonious labor-management relations.
The activity was also conducted in consonance with the implementation of the Green Our DOLE Program (GODP), a DOLE advocacy on creating awareness and consciousness on the concepts, principles and applications of green productivity.
“This activity aimed at reducing pollution, preventing environmental degradation and improving the capacity of participants to protect, restore and enhance the environment”, Director Benjo Benavidez said.
Mr. Mateo Gerson, a forester, and four other farmers from the National Cleaning Program of DENR assisted the participants in restoring degraded environmental resources. They also guided them on how to prevent future environmental damage.
The activity enabled the participants to work collectively, across large landscapes, in order to address environmental degradation.
