The Bureau of Labor Relations brought Labor and Employment Education Services (LEES) to the youth through the Anti-Red Tape Act (ARTA) Caravan on January 25, 2016 at the Palma Hall, University of the Philippines (UP)-Diliman, in Quezon City. Students from UP Diliman and other colleges and universities in Metro Manila and some parts of Luzon attended the activity.
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and University of the Philippines (UP) organized the three-day caravan with the theme, #KontraRedTape: Kabataan, Kaakibat sa Mahusay na Pamamahala. It serves as the platform in presenting the innovations of the different government agencies in the pursuit of providing quality and efficient services. It intends to increase awareness on good governance and social accountability among the citizens, especially the youth and to be vigilant in the fight against the red tape.
Other government agencies provided frontline services, namely: Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Land Registration Administration (LRA), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Philippine Statistics Authority-National Statistics Office (PSA-NSO), Social Security System (SSS), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP), Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-ibig Fund), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
Select BLR personnel displayed the promotional videos of DOLE programs and services, and distributed the Bureau’s Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials.
The next stop of the caravan will be on February 2 at the Leyte Normal University in Tacloban City and will conclude on February 10 at the Mindanao University of Science and Technology in Cagayan de Oro City.
