The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through BLR Director Benjo Santos M. Benavidez presented its policy direction on contractualization during the Labor Forum organized by the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) at the Meralco Mini Theater in Ortigas, Pasig City on 02 February 2017.

Dir. Benavidez explained the salient features of the proposed draft Department Order on contracting and subcontracting. The proposed draft is the result of the area-wide consultations, labor summits and focus group discussions that were conducted to generate substantial inputs and recommendations from the stakeholders.

Dir. Benavidez said that the proposed Department Order strikes the right balance between promoting business competitiveness and protecting the workers’ right to security of tenure.

People managers, business executives, and leaders from both the public and private sectors participated in the forum which aimed to discuss labor trends and issues and develop a common and agreeable solution to contractualization.
