The Bureau of Labor Relations (BLR) provides scholarships to two (2) dependents of dismissed employees of Toyota Motor Philippines thru the Toyota Motors Philippines Corporation Workers Association (TMPCWS), an organization being assisted by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) pursuant to the High-Level Mission’s recommendations to explore out-of-the-box solutions to resolve long-standing cases in a satisfactory manner.

 

 

Ms. Pamela Gwyneth V. Manzanilla (upper left corner) and Mr. Elric Kyle T. Montero (lower left corner) are the first two (2) Isabelo Delos Reyes (IDR) new scholars for SY. 2023-24. With the facilitation of Ms. Raquel Romilla, Labor and Employment Officer III, and Mr. Roland Nobleza, Senior Labor and Employment Officer of the BLR, the application for the scholarship of Ms. Manzanilla and Mr. Montero were processed and approved. On April 5, 2023, Mr. Nobleza and Ms. Romilla conducted an orientation to the two (2) new scholars briefing them on the benefits and obligations of a WODP Scholar.

Mr. Montero is a first-year college student at FAITH Colleges, Tanauan, Batangas taking up a Bachelor of Science Major in Computer Engineering. On the other hand, Ms. Manzanilla is a second-year college student at the University of Sto. Tomas, Manila, taking up Bachelor of Science in Biology, majoring in Medical Biology.

BLR is the Program Manager of the Workers Organization Development Program (WODP) which promotes the advancement of workers’ empowerment through the provision of training programs and educational and technical assistance to workers’ organizations, their officers, members, and legitimate dependents. WODP can also be accessed at the regional level through the DOLE Regional/Provincial/Field Offices.
